About MLV Counseling
A Space for All
My approach blends techniques from CBT Solution-focused, DBT, Directive, and Client-Centered, and Attachment
therapy approaches to best meet the needs of my clients. Active listening, validation, and
collaboration coupled with accountability to achieve the goals you have for your journey is vital.
Together we will uncover the underlying factors to the difficulties that brought you to therapy and
work to develop the skills needed to help you feel like you can navigate life’s challenges with
confidence.

FAQs
What can I expect during my first therapy session?
Your first session is all about getting to know each other. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, explore your goals, and discuss how we can best support you. It’s a safe, welcoming space where you can share as much—or as little—as you feel comfortable.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
Therapy can be helpful for anyone looking to better understand themselves, work through challenges, or simply grow as a person. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit—if you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or curious about your mental health, therapy is a great place to start.
How long will I need to be in therapy?
The length of therapy varies from person to person. Some clients feel relief after a few sessions, while others may continue long-term for deeper exploration and growth. We’ll work together to find a pace and timeline that supports your individual needs.
Do you offer virtual (telehealth) sessions?
Yes! We offer secure and convenient telehealth sessions through a trusted video platform. It’s a great option for clients with busy schedules, transportation challenges, or those who simply prefer therapy from the comfort of home.
Is everything I share in therapy confidential?
Absolutely. Your privacy is a top priority. All sessions are confidential, and your information is protected by professional ethics and legal standards. The only exceptions involve situations of safety where we are legally required to act.
